Lilly Rose and Sammy Wot

I genuinely love childrens imaginations, the names alone are stimulating. I had a very different take on Lilly rose and Sammy wot, logically the drawing is more than likely Robyn and her younger brother (who im informed shes close to) and she was likely just drawing a memory or her and him walking together in the cold weather.

My take on it was similar except certain features drew from memory, and they stood out to me, like the noses and clothes, so i already have a winter theme in my head thanks to the clothes, but the noses, likely just her trying to draw a red nose, or a nose at all, i took it as a snowman nose.
with stick arms, beady eyes and dark noses, i unusually interpreted the drawings as snowmen children. Dont judge me, the point was analyse the drawings.

Regardless of the snowmen or winter features of the children, the emotive design here is very clearly, friendship, sibling bond,
Though this character drawing would be a challenge since its two characters, i however feel i would need to design both characters as it is the foundations of the emotive design.

Things that interest me most so far about interpreting the childrens drawings, is seeing how memory and imagination works, the mind is an amazing thing, especially a childs.
When Robyn draws, like most children, its not the big picture that counts, its what she wants to focus on, its what her mind says was important in that vision/memory, in this case clothes, happiness, facial features, they were all important, maybe it was her favourite coat with tassles maybe it was Sammy Wots new hat with the bobbles. regardless i love the detailed features and no matter which character i take on i will focus on the main attributes that were clearly significant to the original artists work.

Imagination is a very interesting aspect in the drawings, how it works, why certain features stand out in the childs mind and in turn on paper. During my research i came across a few websites that had alot of helpful theroys on imagination.
A complete theory of the imagination needs to address how childhood phenomena such as pretence and fantasy relate to creative imagination. Clearly, the more inventive a child is, the more ideas they will have for use in pretend and fantasy scenarios. And engaging in these activities may itself stimulate further inventiveness. However, the childhood sources for creativity in its fullest sense, as the generation of highly original ideas and ‘products’ with cultural impact or value, is not fully understood. - an extract that inspired me further on the qualities of imagination, espcially a childs.
full article found here : http://www.britac.ac.uk/events/imagination/resources/evolution-2a.html

To me the extract said imagination is how a child learns, grows, and understands the ways of life, its how their minds deal with information that is beyojnd their understanding.
not unlike my ideas od liberty where the child seen the statue as a living protector instead of symbolisim. Whilst interpretating the drawings i want to learn more on psyhcologoy of children and imagination, so i  will have a broader mind set, and understanding.
