VeePees

Veepees to me looks like he has the most going on in the one character, however he doesn't look as interesting to develop as some of the others, which is actually an appealing quality since i don't particularly want to be developing the same character as the vast majority of the class, as interpretations will be somewhat similar and i wouldn't be as proud of the end result.

Big picture wise he looks like a dentist or doctor, due to his blank white coat and gloves/needle hands? but he looks both sinister and crazy with his big eyes and wirey hair, could the original artist (Tom Magee) not like his doctor ? perhaps he gt a jab or bad experience at the dentists and assumes the dentist is crazy and out to inflict pain, ie. not a wholesome or loving character, unlike Nana and Grampa or the DBG

So far the big picture seems simple enough, but then you notice other features on the character, such as his misshapen ears, swirly nose, lack of a mouth and even the seven lines that could be legs but then why seven? even if he ran off the page, there would only be four or six, that might be a feature id like to focus on.
.
his biggest feature would likely be his eyes, which to be honest i really want to focus on when creating any model in 3D Studio Max, after all the biggest emotive design would come from how the eyes are portrayed, as demonstrated by some of the biggest 3D Animation studios like Pixar and dream works.

Pixar have always shown the emotion and even character traits through the eyes.
A skill i hope to try in this brief.

Dreamworks are a younger company and their movies are less universal but they push boundaries on eyes, especially on a vast range of characters and species, instead of the standard white eyeball.

So the eyes will defiantly be a massive feature if i were to choose this particular character.
I wouldnt quite know what to do with the hair as its very big and fried, was he electrocuted? is it an afro or hairstyle? maybe its not even hair, theres a small patch of jaggy something closer to the head that might be air, so what is all those lines at the top then? wires? lightening? maybe hes a mad scientist rather than a dentist. but is he an evil scientist or just misunderstood, like megamind.

I love how he's not human looking, not even animalistic, he looks like a Frankenstein character, as if its lots of bits and pieces put together, to create a weird igor, or super human perhaps.
Theres loads of movie inspirations available if i choose to develop this emotive idea further.

Emotive design wise i think Veepees might have more depth than many other characters ive looked at so far, im actually more inclined to work on this darker and confusing emotive design rather than a simpler one.
Design wise i believe he is rather limited since hes so well drawn originally, however emotive design development wise i believe he has far larger range of possibilities.
